I don't think your off track at all. If you like the 25/20 the .25/.221 is a logical "upgrade". Higher working pressures and velocity over the 25/20(I would think) and the ability to shoot...

Cartridges are considered "Wildcats" when they are not a normal factory loading.

Some cartridges that were originally "wildcats" have been legitimized and adopted as factory loadings....

I've had good luck with the 108 grain bullets from JLK. Give Swampy a call. I'm sure he'd be glad to hook you up. I had to wait about 4 months for mine. Not bad, as I was quoted six months....

You might want to take a look at "Nick Harvey's Practical Reloading Manual". Nothing fancy, but good solid load data. It lists 60 grain bullets at up to 3,800 FPS and 120's up to 2,900 FPS....
