Bill, as usual you probably right...I just thought it might be so..It is not fullered and doesn't have the step in back of the saw teeth, but it is marked LanCay without the hyphen.. Rex

Hey Rex,

Still a decent piece. You don't see many of the second contract pieces without the hyphen. Some of them also have a hollow ground blade.

if I'm correct this should be a bayonet from the first part of the second contract.

Well, if so then my knife shown in these pics is the same type as well?

I am not that lucky so I must be confused

Yup, you got lucky; it's an early second contract. Keep in mind that these are not particularly rare, just no where near as prolific as the hyphenated Product Improved model.
