Bent the first flat today. After a lot of time I got it all the way down the jig only to find that I was off center. ( its a poor craftsman that blames his tools ) Darn tool so I am a poor craftsman. But we will do the other 4 Sat. afternoon. coaldogie

I noticed all my bends were off to the side by the same amount, but it's nowhere near enough to care. They all work fine... ;-) It is the tool. But it's within AK tollerance. You know, +/- half an inch.

Well crap. Bent my second flat today and remeasured it again. Something didnt look right so I took a close look at the jig, the little bars in the bottom of the jig are not in the best of shape. The welds holding the front one are almost cracked all the way around and the rear is on the way. I can re-weld it in but It will take me a couple days to get it done. I still have 3 flats to go!
Quaterbore whats your feeling?

I would appreciate it if you can weld them back up.
The bars on the bottom are really only there to indicate that the jig are deep enough. There is no need to apply any pressure to that point and the receivers should be fine even if you don't actually hit them...
I think the first jig got bent when people over pressed the jig... it just isn't necessary to squash that....
