The only way this is possible is if your notched disconnect is not notched deep enough.

So, what must be happening is when you move the selector to the "burst" position the one disconect gets moved out of the way by the selector but the one that is remaining is still getting tripped by your link. I think you just need to make that notch deeper.

When I cut mine I pulled the link to the rear of the receiver with just the one disconect in the lower and then I notched it according to the depth that I needed so that the link didn't trip the disconect anymore.
