I did flute the barrel I made from your blank. I don't normally like fluting but my buddy wanted it to match the stock barrels. My barrel isn't fluted.
We have been having great fun with these rifles. The .338 Lapua suppressor I finished friday night got tested yesterday and its quiet enough to shoot with no muffs. Bullets make lots of noise but the rifle is quiet. No more blasting hats off at 10ft with the brake and the recoil seems a little reduced to me as well. The 510 has pretty low recoil and the can doesn't make much difference in that. It does make a big difference in the sound though and we tested the second can on the tan rifle yesterday. I didn't see any difference in the point of impact with or without the cans on the 510's. I'm guessing thats due to the light aluminum suppressors and the large diameter stiff barrels. The .338 seemed to drop the point of impact a little with the suppressor installed but not as bad as I would have expected from a heavy steel can.
The project continues.....
