I recently bought a savage allweather 0ne in ten twist and he was loading sub 308s and I am continueing on with his research. I'm using N320 shot gun powder. I dont know much about reloading, I've only just started. Speaking to a couple of guns in gun shops they have told me not to go over 180 grains in weight for the projectile as the one in ten twist will not develope accurate flight but he was telling me about another projectile and a different powder that could give a heavier grain size. I want to kill deer reliably up to 100 yards.
The guy I bought the gun off was using dacron to fill in the extra space in the cartrage but everyone I have spoken to says that is a bad idea. I have loaded some with good result I.e. it fired but I have not chronographed or fired them at targets on the range. Any research I do I'll post here, including photo's of kill shots.
