I, too, am looking for the magical powder combo. Shooting a Rem. XR action with a Lilja 1/8 twist SS barrel and Gemtech can.
Currently have tried H-110 -terrible. No consistency.
Tried H-335 good accuracy and can keep 5 under 1" but dirty/unburned powder a problem.
Same for AA-7 seems awfully messy.

Mostly shooting 220 Sierra (sensational on deer) or 240 MK for paper punching.

Have not tried VV-110 - is the consensus that this is a go to powder?

Have no plans for anything other than subsonic loads-that is why there are other guns in the safe.

Ideas?

Many thanks.

Gary

I tired some Accurate #9 and some Accurate #5.

I shot a few rounds of each and videoed them being shot. When shooting, my sones were with me watching.

After hearing the rifle first hand and reviewing the video's, we all agreed that the 8.2 grain load of AA#5 was quieter than the #9.

Using the AA#5, I shot a 10 round group at 100 yards that measured .638, which is excellent accuracy. Had I been using a target scope, it might have been better, but I was using a 4x14 Tactical Leupold.

Hey HG long time since I've talk/heard from you , I'm still lurking about time to time here and on GP , I thought you use to use 1680/4227 or was that just for the A/R platform, will AA#5 cycle the AR? still loving this gun you got me hooked on, wanting to do some more hunting with it but I have been so busy lately
