$20 rental fee paid on 06/17/2005 via Paypal.

On 07/05 I was informed that the rental item (the jig) would be shipped.

After two weeks and no jig, I contacted the person who had it and worked out a separate arrangement where I would come to his house and use the jig, and then we would simply ship it on to the next person on the rental list. I went to fourays house and bent up three flats. I had agreed to his proposal of $6.66 in a simple three way split of his rental expenses, since he and another friend had used the jig to press up several flats too. I also agreed to ship the jig to the next guy on the list.

I had put a $20 bill on Alex’s workbench to kick in for what I figured to be WELL MORE THAN MY SHARE and was wiping down the jig to pack it up when fourays wife came out into the garage to offer some water (it was a very hot Phoenix afternoon). When she saw the money she immediately said I did not need to pay. She further told me that fourays had planned on purchasing the jig. At that point, I offered the $20 to her to give to Alex for letting me use his press and being so accommodating. She declined that offer too, and said to consider it a favor, that one day he might need one from me. I thought that was really cool and stopped trying to give her the money. I did not take possession of the jig as planned, not because I just left it to stiff Alex for the shipping, but because I was under the direct impression that the jig was spoken for as a direct result of our conversation.

Considering my deal was with fourays and that I thought he was buying the jig outright, I posted that I wanted off the list and a refund. My thought was that this would free the second jig up for the next guy in line while Quarterbore had another jig made up to replace the one I THOUGHT WAS SOLD. Why in the hell would I want to rent the replacement jig when I’d already used the one I was supposed to be renting but was now (I thought) SOLD???!!!

The next thing I know is Quarterbore’s insisting that I wait for my refund until he can figure out where his jig is. I would certainly not discuss or commit to the purchase of the jig on Alex’s behalf and had no desire to become involved in whatever was going on between them, so I simply stuck to THE TRUTH. I told Ken that I did not have his jig and that I did not want to rent it anymore. I still do not see how that is in any way inappropriate.

I’ve got nothing to hide and have not lied once to you Ken. Not once.

You’ve now posted my name and address on this website, along with some bullshit comments including "LYING SCUMBAG", "ASSCLOWN" and "IDIOT". I think that you over-reacted and posted this BS before knowing the whole story. Out of respect for you, I sincerely hope that is the case.

If I owe you an apology please consider it rendered. I leave your next comments to your own sense of justice and integrity. It's been true enough in the past, I'll respect your response to do the right thing on that merit alone.

Respectfully,

Cheapskate
