I decided to play around with my loads for the covert while I was off for xmas for a couple weeks. Between work and a soon to be newborn time has been real limited as of late "I did however finish the baby room finally!".
Loads tested were from a 11" .308 1-8 twist tube from my sbr, gas port is in the pistol position and the suppressor is a SWR omega 30
135 smk's first. Loads showed absoluteley no sign of pressure, 7/8 ish groups @ 100 yds, wind was 14mph, temp was 54f, and 111 ft above sea level. 25 rounds fired, avg fps of the 25 rounds was 2152, with 1388 ft-lbs energy "approx". There were no fliers and the string was shot back to back in a total of 30 minutes.
150 smks. I brought 2 loads because the first seemed a little warm. Out of the "warm" loads I shot all 25, groups averaged around 1" @ 100 yds wind dropped to 10 mph and temp rose to 56f, still 111ft above sea level. 25 rounds fired and 2 showed some flattening of primers but couldnot be sure if that didnot happen during the priming process or not. Fps avg was 2071 fps with 1343 ft-lbs of enery" approx" 2 fliers but it was shooter error.
150smk loads v2.0 I also brought 25, all showed zero signs of pressure, temp was still 56f and wind was about 12mph and 111ft above sea level. This load was .5 gr below the warm loads and ran groups around 1/2" at 100 yds. 2044 fps avg with 1289 ft-lb energy "approx"
Hopefully more to come on the 135 and 150 smk's as they look promising, I may try some 175's in the next week also.
