If it is just for subs, makes you wonder if you couldnt sort out a blow back bolt carrier so you could shoot it both ways.

LAR Grizzly upper
Apex handguard
Ported Mike Rock 1-8" twist barrel
Built by SRT Arms

What else do you want to know?

thehouseproduct, it is set up for subsonic only. I hadn't thought about that but might have to look into it. It probably wouldn't be nearly as quiet, though.

I looked at LAR's website earlier, it appears that the upper is normally a gas operated upper, so did you install an adjustable gas block, or just use a non ported barrel?

What's nice about this forearm is that it clamps over a standard barrel nut. Normally the clamp would be offset to allow room for the gas tube and keep a slim profile but I had them make a concentric clamp so the suppressor would be centered. I think it's now a standard offering but I paid a huge premium for this clamp.

So, there is no gas tube then?
How is the extraction& ejection effort?

I shot this over the chronograph today with my standard load (9.2 grains of #9 & 220 gr. SMK) and only got 860 fps. My 12 " gun gives about 1030 fps with the same load. That probably helps explain why it was so much quieter. I'll work up some faster loads when I get a chance.

Correct, no gas tube.

Operation is smooth and easy. The side charger seems to require less effort than the standard rear charging handle. I just have to remember to use it. You wouldn't believe how many times I've pulled the trigger and had nothing happen because I'm so used to semiauto.
