Hello and I have a question

Hello My name is Gary and I am from Vienna Mo. I am a building a wagabond airplane with a corvair engine. I am a rookie at this stuff and I need some help.

I have a 1947 Atlast 10F lathe and I am trying to turn a propeller hub (6161 aluminum) I locked the spindle pin so the chuck would spin with the pulley but there seems to be a gap between the 3 step pulley and the small counter gear on the main spindle and the pulley shucks back and forth, so it will not stay engauged. When the pulley slips to the left, the pin will not engauge and the chuck freewheels. Is there something missing or can I tighten a collar somehow to keep it locked?

Thank you in advance

Gary
