Help needed to buy a M9

hi, guys. Nice to meet you all.

I am a new M9 fan and now i want to get my first one to use as a tool. My request is simple: factory made(best made in US,no homemade); relatively cheap(less than 100 USD,cuz i 'm not a collector yet); best with black blade(not necessary).

I found many M9 sellers on ebay but i'm a newbie in M9 kingdom. So please help me to choose one (or some ). Any help would be appreciated.

Have a nice day.

Ciao

If you truly want an M9 bayonet to use as a tool, by one of the Medrano M9s that are made in Taiwan. They are a good copy of the US M9 bayonet and only cost about $40. If that isn't what you're looking for, then check ebay. There are always a number of them for sale there. You can get one of the current Lan-Cay bayonets for under $100.

Your name and your reference to "homemade" lead me to believe that you are located in China. If that is true, it is illegal for anyone in the US to sent you a bayonet. Where are you located?

Thanks for the reply. man. Gonna check it out. And, I am in Canada.

Anyway, is Xaero a Chinese name? I got it from Quake III Arena. As for my reference to "homemade", i got the concept from the sticky thread here: Buyer and Reader Beware...

Forgive my ignorance; a name with an "x" in it usesaully turns out to be Chinese. Then when you throw in the homemade comment, I attributted that to the Norinco made M9s.

I still say that if you are looking for an M9 to use as an all around utility knife, go with one of the Medranos. If you're dead set against an import, go for one of the commercial Lan-Cays, but it will cost you about twice as much.

Thanks for your recommendation, porterkids. I think i should try Medrano first. Got through ebay but found no Medrano exist. Got through google and found the original seller(I think) of Medrano. Now i'm trying to contact that guy, mr pauly, who has 1284 positive feedbacks on ebay.

Paul Medrano is a great guy. I have corresponded with him many time and have purchased at least eight of his bayonets. My last email address for him is medrano.inc@att.net. If that doesn't work you can try to contact him through ebay.

hi, porterkids. Do you know what's the original Lan-cay or Ontario bayonet's hardness? From the instruction of Medrano, its hardness is 50HRC. TIA.

If anybody has any of the Military Specs for the contracts I would love to get copies for the library at M9Bayonet.com as well!
