Well after the snow after Christmas, I decided to go sit in the stand, since I was out of work because of the snow.

Has seen several bucks on my camera, all in the middle of the night, but i figured with the snow they might move in the day.

Here he is a few days before

here he is a few days later

Watched him and another buck for 30 minutes. Lost the other in the woods. but this one sat there eating for a while. I was going to take a neck shot again. But as I thought about it I was really curious if the bullet would in fact tumble like my research said it would.

I debated it for a few minutes. I had no doubt I could kill him, but if he did not drop on the spot then I figured with the fresh snow on the ground he would be easy to track, even if there wasn't a blood trail.

I lined up the shot right behind the shoulder. He was right at 50 yds like the other one earlier. When I fired he jumped up and ran forward. I didn't hear him hit the ground but was confident I had hit him good. After I got down to check there was only a few blood spots on the ground at the impact spot. Could see where he jumped up and ran thru the snow. About 20 feet down his path I began to see blood, it got heavier until about 30 yds. He took a right turn and went about 15 feet and laid down.

The lungs were split, it's hard to see in the pic

Needless to say I was impressed with the wound damage.
