Shhhhh...I'm hunting wabbits - a quiet 308

Dad and I just changed the scope on our Ruger 77 and we took it out to sight it back in. We did bore sight but knew it would be shooting low due to the low velocity rounds this rifle is made for. The sight in load consists of a 220 grain Sierra Match King loaded over Trail Boss at about 1050fps. The can is a late 70's Ciener and is run completely dry.

The rifle is a Ruger 77 and all work was done by Ciener.

The bull barrel was cut, turned down and threaded to accept the can...

and a shroud provided for when shooting without the can...

The first two shots in the video where about 18 inches low. The scope, a 3X15X50 Pentax adjusted easily to point of aim and sub moa groups are the norm with this rifle. In the video you can actually hear the click of the firing pin hitting the primer. This was shot under an overhead and it was still this quiet.
