.40 cal suppressor

Hi all. Has anyone here ever tried to shoot their whisper with a .40 cal can? I know the 9mm cans will work, but I don't want a 9mm. I would like it to be duel purpose with my pistols. What are your thoughts? Would it be very loud?
Thanks

I don't have a 40cal can but I do have a 9mm/45cal and 7.62 can that I have used with my whisper. The 45 can is slightly louder than the others with the whisper but it still does quiet it down.

I shoot my 300 Whispers through both a 338 can and a 308 can. Not a lot of difference in noise. I have yet to try it with my 9mm can as it is threaded 1/2x28 and my AR-15 300 barrel is threaded 5/8x24.
