Ok, I'm hooked

After some research, I built a 300 Fireball AR. Vltor upper, Vltor CASV handguard with a chrome bolt. 10.5" barrel with HVT can. Bushmaster SBR lower with Vltor Mod stock and Oversized ergo grip. It is at the gunsmith getting finetuned cause bolt does not stay open on the last shot. Not as quite as hoped but sounded like a very loud BB gun. 220 grain FMJ rounds.

I do need some pointers though cause I have started to build a bolt Fireball now. I want this thing to be very light. I want to get to the point I could use it for all my hunting apps. I just purchased a Rem 700 bolt only. I found 2 carbon fiber stocks. First is Christenson Stocks and Manners. Manners T or T4 stocks are what I am leaning towards. I think they are like 2.8 lbs. I also want to be able to use possibly the Seekins trigger guard assembly and detatchable magazine. Or H&S detatchable magazine. Then finaly the barrel. Maybe a 20" fluted barrel. Or very skinny but that might look strange with a Big HVT can. Oops forgot wanting to put on a Vltor bipod.

What do you guys think? I got the idea cause cause a friend just picked up a MG Arms 308 and the think weighs close to nothing. Even with a scope. I could easily one hand track with that rifle with no sling.

Oh and Christenson sells a carbon fiber barrel but dont know if they make a 30 calibre barrel with enough metal on the end to be threaded for the HVT flash hider.

Food for thought.

Happy New Year
