SSK's "valve" looks eaiser to go back and forth than Fulton Armory's. Not to mention it looks "cleaner" also. Any ideas?
2. barrels- i have read a 1:8 twist is what you want but what about length? I read 16" seems popular, would a longer barrel be more accurate, maybe a 20" barrel be better for subsonic and supersonic loads?
3. suppressors- i have been looking at the advanced arament but not sure. I have a gem-tech on my 22 and i'm very happy. Has anyone had good results with other brands?
once i get the upper up and going i'll be back for reloading info.
thanks to all who can help.

Welcome to the club Robbie.
These can be a headache. I'll try to answer your questions with the experience I have and hopefully someone else will chime in.
1. AGT - not sure it is necessary. I'm working on that one now myself. IF your upper is working with the subsonic I'm not sure that the gas adjustment for supersonic is really critical. I will know more when I get mine back and do some testing. The only benefit that I'm thinking right now is that you can turn it completely off. This makes your AR a "bolt gun". This is good for noise suppression. If you want a Fulton Armory type Brownell's makes the same thing cheaper. You can have a machinist make another head for the allen head screw that is in it that will look and perform like SSK's.
2. Barrel length. 16" vs 20". I don't know of anyone that has a 20", but the length of the barrel doesn't affect accuracy. It will only increase volicity and if your planning on using subsonics as most of us want to then your really not going to need the extra volicity or you will be pushing the subsonic/supersonic crack boarder. However it is a good question on function if the 20" would perform more reliabily because of the extra pressure to cycle the action. But if your adding a suppressor probably 6"-9" the 20" may get alittle long.
3. Any suppressor that you like from either of those 2 companies won't be a problem and I'm sure that people will prefer one over the other for various reasons. I am looking at Lauer Custom Weaponary right now. They are relatively new on the suppressor market, but they do quality work and I like the fact you can unscrew and clean there suppressors.
I hope that gives you some ideas and welcome aboard 8)
