CM or SS?

Guys,

Am looking at a 16" 300/221 Fireball bbl with pistol position adjustable gas block. Stainless steel costs about $70 more than chrome moly steel.

Given that I'd Gun Kote either to get a color close to the upper ... is SS of significant value in a relatively low intensity cartridge like the 300 Fireball?

Opinions?

Thanks!

Mike

if you are using a suppressor then stainless is much better. The suppressor will accumulate and condense water vapor until it gets hot enough to evaporate it again. The moisture can rust and pit your bore so I'd say go stainless.

+1 Have both. Like ss better, but just preference. Both shoot about the same. Bolt and TC.
