Why supersonic?

Answer a question from one new to this realm....

If the .300 Whisper was developed primarily as a quiet subsonic round, then why has it been picked up by the supersonic crowd? What does it, or will it, do that any of the more popular supersonic rounds can't do?

Honestly, the 300 Whisper in supersonic is just about equal in power and performance to the 30/30 Winchester or 7.62x39. This is one of the key features of this round as you have a very lethal capability with supersonic loads as well as very quiet and efficient ballistics with subsonic loads...

The .300 Whisper in supersonic loads is also much more accurate than the similarly powered 30/30 and 7.62x39. My Contender carbine (SSK barrel)routinely shoots better than .75 moa with CorBon 150 gr JSP's. I can't wait to see what I can get out of it with handloads.

it was also developed to fit in an AR-15 magazine, and... *gasp* cycle in an AR15.

Find me someone with an AR15 that feeds .308 or 30-06 through the magwell (not AR10's), and i'll show you a damn miracle.
