And it looks good! The whole rifle (sans optic) is lighter with the 300-221 upper on than my 223 varmint upper with 24" x 0.930" barrel. I can see why you guys like SBRs now. They must be right handy. Although compared to what I'm used to in an AR, this package feels like a brush gun.
The only minor hitch is the take down pin fit. The rear pin is very tight. I'm guessing this is due to slop in DPMS' tolerances. Both uppers have the DPMS A3 style upper for the A-15 lower. The 223 one is a breeze to pop on and off. Hopefully the pin holes on the 300-221 upper will wear in so I don't have to ream out the rear one.
Now I just need to load some rounds and take it to the range. I'm going to be mounting the same optic as the 223. I bought it before I noticed some limitations in the range finder. I'm going to have to give the Burris 4-12x42 Laser Scope only a B.
This thread would be worthless without pix:
Rifle with 223 upper on and 300-221 upper along with hand guard and case gage.
It's hard to read, but it says, "FUDMOTTIN WHISPER".
Three way gas block, High speed, Low speed, Closed.
Uppers swapped.
