is h110 a no go?

i bought 110 for loading my 220gr subs in my 300 whisper, and have not had any problems. i was going to order 8lbs of it, and it seems like there is a lot of negative popping up about H110.

Should I switch powders? are the problems mostly with the supersonic bullets?

thanks, jon

I haven't had any major issues with H110, but I have only loaded subsonic with it.

I've read and have been told that H110 is very temperature sensitive, so I'm using caution when the temp reaches 90 degrees or more. I like going to the Oregon/Nevada border and shooting. From Memorial Day and throughout the summer, the temp can be near freezing (or colder) at night to above 100 degrees duting the day. So I won't be using H110 after mid-morning.

My big gripe was how dirty my brass gets using H110. Ramshot Enforcer was recommended to me as being a very clean burning powder, so that's what I'm loading now. Ramshot sent me load data for the 300 Whisper. I haven't shot any of these Ramshot Enforcer rounds yet, but I do intend to post on this forum if it has met my expectations.

VihtaVuori powder is the only powder that has been recommended as burning even cleaner than Ramshot Enforcer, but all of the VihtaVuori powders are very hard to get in my area.

thanks for the post. I'm very interested in your findings with Ramshot Enforcer.
I will wait till I hear more about that before I buy a bunch of powder.
i'll keep reading, but i think i will stop using H110, because i don't want to worry about temp at all.

thanks

I wasn't able to get H110 to cycle the action with the subsonics. I had to switch to AA1680 for that. But I still use H110 on my 125gr supersonics. I have them loaded to almost 2200fps.
