Jet 12 X 40--how to get 4 jaw chuck

Hello. I have a Jet 12 X 40 lathe. I don't have a 4 jaw chuck and badly need one. The spindle is threaded. The manual says it is 60mm by 8 tpi. I thought that was weird. I cant find a chuck or back plate for any metric diameters. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

They do look very much alike. I can't quite read your mfg date. I think it is 1966 or 86. Mine is 1983. Hopefully you can measure your spindle threads and find one easier than I can.

mine is 88, I don't plan on taking my chuck off any time soon. I'll check on my manual this weekend.

Spindles are 2 1/4 x 8 threads or the taper mounts using D 1-4 or something. I have never seen any metric head mount threads.
