First kill with 300 whisper

This is my first feral hog with my 300 whisper. The rifle is a ar15 lower with a 1/8 twist,ss bull barrel, pistol length adjustble gas system.Round is a handload with a sierra 150 gr btsp traveling at 2000fps. Had to come back and use a Lee factory crimp on round. Hog was 75 yards away doing a fast walk. Shot in neck ,190 lbs feral hog died in its tracks.I made this my swamp hunting gun.

Looks like she did the job. Do you have a larger image? If so, perhaps you can become my first member over at... http://www.rodentsniper.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=5 ...and attach your image there and tell us more of the story?

Note, I tried to modify this forum to allow us to upload attachments but the host I have for this website doesn't allow me to do that

Hey, me too!

I got my first kill on Dec. 1. Spike buck quartering away at about 35 yds. Double lung and heart shot with Nosler 125 BT's. He made four very labored steps before keeling over in mid-stride. Nickel size exit and an index finger sized hole through the heart. I was hoping to get a shot closer to 175 yds. to test the cartridge, but no luck there...

What lee factory crimp die are you using? I'm not fond of the Redding roll crimp, but couldn't find a lee that I thought would work.

Thanks,
Brian

Sorry for long time period before replying. The Lee factory crimp is what you need in my opion when you load the lighter bullets. When I got mine I think I paid $25 total for it. I sent Lee a new unfired case with a 150 grain bullet in the case(no primer or powder). Give them a call they will take care of you
