Ricochet problem ? Anyone else ?

Twice I've shot my 300 / 221 into the ground, where there are no rocks ( the mound system in my back yard ) had had ricochets. I'm shooting 220gr Matchking over 9.1 H110 at about 1000 fps.
Anyone else had similair problems ?
Thanks

I have not had ricochets off of dirt but have had them off of steel all the way back to 100 yards with the 510 whisper. Not cool.

Anything that big moving that slowly is going to be at risk to ricochet. There just isn't enough velocity to cause the bullet to break apart.
