Annealing Brass

Do people anneal their 300 Whisper brass? I made some the other day from 223 Win and mil brass and was thinking the shoulder is now the neck and probably not annealed like a neck should be. I get blackening on the outside of the necks and think the necks are too stiff. Is this right or should I stop worrying?

Jeff

I never have- for the record I only shoot sub-sonic and I do not worry about extending the life of my brass. They last long enough as it is.

I anneal

I anneal my brass (UMC .223) and also get some blackening around the necks of my cartridges.
