.243 WSSM or .25 WSSM

I am looking at picking up an upper in one of these two calibers. I am stuck on which one to get. I will be doing both deer and coyote, with varmints probably being my primary. What are the pros and cons of each? Most of my shooting will probably be under 300 yards. I would like to hunt with 75 to 85 grain bullets for varmints, and if I get the .25, then I will use 120's for deer.

I have read that the .25 actually has higher velocities with same weight bullets. But, those same weight bullets have lower bc's. Will these both shoot about the same, ballistically speaking?

I have also read that the .25 will feed better than the .243>

My battery already includes a Rem 700 .22-250 and Bushy Varminter for varmints, and then my Ruger Mark II .280 for deer. Just thought I would throw those in there as well.

Trajectory the 6mm BC's are better.
Energy the 25 is better.

You need to define ballistics more.

I voted 243WSSM and here is why:
Under 300 yards
Deer and Smaller Game

The ammo selection for the 25WSSM is very limited because of C.O.A.L.
Even the 243WSSM can't feed all of the low drag bullets.

I have never heard of feeding issues with mine or any other WSSM AR if you keep the COAL down to fit in the magazine. Saying the 243WSSM doesn't feed as reliable as the 25WSSM, where did you hear this? Mines never had a hick-up.

You need to talk to the guy who pioneered the WSSM platform in the AR, Mike Milli of Dedicated Technology. He developed the platform with the aid of Olympic Arms and still builds these rifles.

He deer hunts with the 25WSSM but will explain it's short-comings. The majority of predator hunters that use the AR in a WSSM platform chose the 243WSSM. It is also very adequate for deer size and smaller game.
He is currently also making 6.5WSSM, 7mmWSSM, 300WSSM, 338WSSM and 358WSSM

I voted for the 25wssm. Not because it is the winner but because I used to shoot a 257 Roberts and got grief from a friend that shot 243. So I'm loyal to the 257 calibers for no reason than to just be in the minority. If I'm pressed I'll admit that in an AR, the 24 is the winner.
