Clays is a really fast burning powder...generally it's not recommended in pistol applications in calibers smaller than .40 (due to the rapid pressure increase in a smaller bore). Taking JDJ's comments into account (specifically his request to remove reloading data using any powder faster than AA #9 from lists) I would be very hesitant to use something like Clays in a small bore diameter, especially in the quantity it would take to get a 220 grain bullet up to speed. Certainly, 230 grain bullets in a .45 work, but the initial pressure spike upon ignition in a smaller bore is something I would worry about.
