Barrel finish question

Question for those who have tread this path before:

I am a firm believer in the melonite barrel treatment, and I've always intended to get a melonite 300 barrel. All my 5.56/223 barrels have been chrome-lined. (What I'm getting at is I've never had or wanted a "plain" barrel.)

Here's my problem -- a vendor has put the exact kit I'm looking for, and need, on sale for a good price, except the barrel is listed simply as "chrome-moly," which is distinctly different than they mark either the chrome-lined or melonite barrels they sell. I'm sure that means this barrel just has the manganese phosphate or parkerized finish. No lining or hardening to protect the bore or make the bore "slicker."

Is this a worry? Should I hold out for a melonite, or at least chrome-lined barrel?
