9mm or .308 Can for .300 Whisper?

I'd like to get some suppressor recommendations from you guys.

I need a suppressor that will work with 1/2-36 threads (or is neatly adaptable to 1/2-36).

I'm leaning toward a 9mm can since my Whisper/Fireball will only be used with sub-sonic ammo. I realize a .308 can would be more quiet, however I don't really want the added size and weight. Also, there is a better chance that I'd want to suppress a 9mm in the future than a .308, so the 9mm can would be a little more versatile for me.

Any opinions? Anyone used a 9mm can on their Whisper? Is it pretty quiet?

Any recommendations on suppressors that are compatible with 1/2-36 threads?

Thanks

have been wondering the same thing as you. I just bought a SWR trident 9, so waiting on paperwork now. I emailed SWR and they said no problems shooting 300 whisper subsonic through it. I'm not a lot of help because I haven't heard it yet, but I have heard people say great things about that can.

trident will fit that thread pitch as well as others.

get a hold of Bryon at Major-malfunction.com for a great deal on cans. I just bought my trident from him.

good luck

Is both your 9mm and 300 whisper barrels threaded 1/2x36 ?
if so then get a SWR Trident or AAC Evo 9 and you can use the
3 lug setup.
1/2x36 3 lug thread adapters here.

I use the 308 can as I shoot super and sub-sonic loads thru the whisper but I just ordered TROS adaptor for 1/2 to 5/8 to match my can - I also got 1/2x28 to 5/8 so I can use my 308 can with 223 as well.

I also went .308 route w/AAC 7.62 SD.

QD is nice/flash hider looks good on AR & protects threads & I've gotten to where I shoot everything (unless hunting regulated game animals) w/the suppressor on.
I think accuracy is better & I love being able to hear bullet impacts as well as other noises.
W/9mm can I would NOT shoot supersonic loads but I may be wrong on this point. Wouldn't be 1st time & I know it won't be the last i'm not correct but I would think the pressures would be too great.

I haven't had any luck getting a response via e-mail or on the phone (a couple months ago).

Anyone know for sure if he's still making them?

edited because my original accidentally looked rude.
