Need Suggestions on Guard

here's what i have.

paladin machine works 3 way adjustable gas block on a .930 barrel.

6' free float guard

as you can see the guard won't fit over the block.

1. i thought about milling a slot on the top of the guard and drill 2 holes on the bottom so i can install the block after the guard is tightened.
2. if i cut the guard down it will only be 2-1/4" long. too short.
3. different guard

any suggestions on #3??? what have y'all done on your's???

I have a yankee hill midlength light weight free float tube on mine with paladins 3 pos gas block. My tube just barely fits over it after rounding the corners on the gas block and the rotating selector and shortening the lever in the selector. with the carbine length tube I wouldn't have had to open up the lightening holes on my tube but with the mid length I did and am very happy I went this route.

It looks factory and gives me lots of room on the tube for mounting accessories.

Hope this helps

I could open the tube to fit for you but I cant tell from the pic if there will be enough material left for strenth. If not the YHM is a good product. Ron

i went ahead and cut the guard out. figured if it doesn't work out i can always get another.

now i just need to cut and thread the barrel.

this gives an idea of what i'm aiming for

i'll probably change it out for a cleaner look, for now it'll work
