Update!
One more M9 USMC for sale
http://cgi.ebay.com/USMC-M9-BUCK-199...QQcmdZViewItem
...and (as predicted) there is a reserve by the seller.....
...unfortunately, there is also a nick on the blade...because of it the "fair" price should be around $1500-1700!

It looks like the seller got smart after the listing was posted as if you look at the revision history they revised their reserve twice:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160209041752

Still, $650.00 still seems like way too much for that bayonet to me but I guess it may well be a sign of things to come...

I took a second look at the (in)-famous auction "2000+ dollars Buck USMC"
http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-GI-ISSUE-US...QQcmdZViewItem
Seems that something went wrong, as all the auction pictures had been replaced (now we have a 2000 dollars scabbard ) and there is no feedback left for the seller or the buyer....

I've corresponded with this seller several times over the years and I can tell you that he is a reputable dealer. He was just as shocked as everyone else with the $2000 auction result. I wouldn't be surprised if the high bidder backed out on the deal, but I haven't followed up with the seller to ask.

The pictures have been replaced because the seller doesn't keep the pictures from the old auctions on his photo server forever. He just happened to use the same file name for this scabbard that he had used for the M9 bayonet. I've seen this happen many times before, not only with this seller.
