Besides it would take less time to order one of the others since I can get them already threaded for the YHM Phantom for the supresor. I may call M1S though and discuss this with them to be fair. Ah so many things to build, so little money left.
I bought a 10.5 Noveske barrel a couple months ago. It's a great barrel, except for one thing, the diameter of the barrel at the gas block is .875" and not the standard .750".

Why is this an issue? Well I'm trying to work up some subsonic loads for 220gr and am having cycling issues. The gas port is .0875". I wish I could put an adjustable gas block on it so I can tune the gas system to the load, instead of the load to the gas system.

And I have looked at the adjustable gas tube, but the valve will not fit underneath my MGI QCB handguard.

I have a M1S upper that was threaded for my YHM phantom adapter by M1S. I think it cost an extra $30.00 for the threading.

I posted some M1S upper - 100 yard targets in Members Photos - Pitt300.
Hope you can find them.
If someone can explain to me how to link them to this I would appreciate it.
Mine aren't as good as Kurtz's but I was shooting them fairly quickly w/AR.
VERY pleased w/all 125g super loads & 150g subsonic.
220 & 240 sub still need work & the 240g load didn't go super the weekend before as it was colder but I didn't have my chrono w/1st shooting. It also appears to want to tumble. I wonder if that's from impacting the cardboard backer as I have not seen any tumble previously on my targets?
I'm switching to VV110 I think at least for subs as temperature swings in Texas are from 10* to 110*.

Thanks for the info on the Noveske. Marty gave me the specs on his barrel and his is looking like the way to go. It's the profile I want, has the gas port in pistol position, and has the right sized port diameter. I think I'll order it from him when I finally get my Form 4 back approved.

I also am determined to assemble/purchase a .300/221 SBR upper that is 10.5" in length & will cycle both sub&supersonic with & without a suppressor,& with no adjustable gas block or gas tube.Has anyone been able to achieve this? So far, I have a Model 1 Sales 16" barrel that will not chamber standard Whisper lengths. I plan to block the carbine port,& make another port @ the pistol position.
From everything I've read, there is no magic gas port size that will do all of the above mentioned without the assistance of adjustable gas components.
Since the M1S barrel was inexpensive, and seems to have chambering issues, I am going to try to make this work before consulting the high-end gurus.

Alcoholicus Maximus,
Marty over at Teppo Justsu said that he could port one at the pistol location and it would work with both subsonic and supersonic loads. I'll let you know when I get mine. I just got my Form 1s for my SBRs back approved today. I'm now a stamp collector!

I called Marty last week and he told me 16 weeks is the min right now for the 30 cal 1:8 twist blank for my 300/221 rig.
I called and ordered my barrels from Noveske as he had them in stock ready to go. I was unaware of the non .750 dia gas block however, is this a big deal?
