Gas block pistol location Question

This is in reference to Model 1 barrels, as i have one currently on order.
Im just curious, for those in the know...does the barrel profile have to be turned down to a certain diameter when moving the gasblock to the pistol location or is a gas block available to fit that location without further modification? What is /or should be the barrel dia. in that location? Would the answers to these questions be specific to Model 1 barrels, AR CAR barrels or per manufacturer?
