Hello all and thanks for the forums!!
I am in the process of putting together a bolt action .300 whisper. I am thinking a Charles Daly mini mauser. 1 I already have it, and it is the correct length. Is this action strong enough? Extraction issues? Any other hassles that have to be worked out.
I am thinking 16.25 bbl and at least 1:8 twist. The can is an AAC 762 qd, hopefuly that will suffice.
Thanks in advance. I am new to this cartridge, hoping to line out my parts and work order prior to shipping to a smitty. Hate to lick a calf twice. Any input advice or direction at this point would be appreciated. db
The mini mauser action is quite nice. I have one in 762x39. Had one in 223 sold it. Never had a problem. They are a small, lighter and easier to carry around.Didn't know parker hale has them. I have the earlier yugo version.Don't expect any problems. the extrator has beef. I like mine.regards.
Hello guys,
just check out the last Shooting time mag, Remington is now importing the barrelled action and selling complete rifles in the USA. The accuracy test report was OK for an average rifle out of the box, but I am sure that with a proper bedding job, one can expect much tighter groups.
i have the same mini in 7.62x39 i load my ammo to whisper loads and put a can on it and after i got my ass handed to me for takeing it with me to the sand box it got a good work out in close range engagements the 7.62x39 is a great round i would take an ak 47 over a m 16 any day .223 is for ground hogs
