.25-06 Is the best

The Ruger in .25-06 is a slightly heaver weapon than some of the others that I've had the good fortune to operate. I've weigh'd my rifle (on the bathroom scales) and it is just under 8 lbs. ready to carry. That is without and rounds in the mag. or chamber. Full up with rounds it would be very close to 8 lbs or maybe just over. I think I can live with that.

I also have a Marlin Cowboy Limited in 45 Colt with 24" octagon barrel and full length mag. tube. That rifle in the specs says 7 1/2 lbs. It dose not feel like it weighs as much as the Ruger but in reality they are very close. Go figure.
