Mills do not cut stainless steel. Cutters or tool bits cut SS steel.The mill provides a platform to hold and move the work for cutting.The higher hp motor
the more material you can cut.The question is how much precision do you need
for the job you want to do? A 7x7" work piece can be machined on a drill mill.
You can get a simple dro setup for a drill mill giving you accuracy. I have made lots of prototypes in 316 ss for customers.It wears out tools faster then average but thats how it is.How much $ do you want to spend? You need to give some information. My take is, drill mill for short term quick fix and standard
basic mill 9x42" table 2 hp motor for serious work. Add a dro to the mill and you
can do almost anything.Love dro's they are your friend.The second setup is about $ 5000 but worth it. regards.
