markings on Phrobis M9

Today I received an Phrobis M9 bayonet.

What could the markings, engravd upon the crossguard and the sheath, mean ?

Hi,
These markings were engraved, in theory, by the military gunsmith responsible for weapons.
I do not believe that it is about a marking made by Cie Phrobis.
Sometimes, on ebay, NumberonGi, sale the M9 with markings on the blade & scabbard.

These numbers are commonly referred to as rack numbers. These numbers do two things. They make sure the soldier and the bayonet stay together, and if the rifle is stored in a rack, the soldier will be able to find his rifle by locating the corresponding rack number that's on the bayonet. Also, you will notice that the same number is on the scabbard as on the bayonet. This assures that the correct bayonet and scabbard stay together. On your M9, it might be that the number was changed from 098 to 099. It also appears that the soldier inscribed his name on the cross guard as well. Rack numbers are very common and can be used in different ways, but the forgoing are some common ways they are used. Also, these numbers show the collector that this bayonet has been issued and used by a US soldier or marine.
