need clarification about the Lan-Cay magazine pouch

Hello to all,
I've seen on ebay a lot of auctions about a "Lan-Cay magazine pouch", stating that it is original as it is (was) manufactured by Lan-Cay itself.
As far as I'm concerned, during the army contracts the LanCay and Lan-Cay bayonets were NOT provided (unlike the Phrobis/Buck) with any magazine pouch. Am I wrong ?
So my first question is:

1) Is it possible that Lan-Cay made (if they REALLY made them) this pouches only for the commercial market?
While thinking about it, I was looking at two very interesting posts (in this forum) by porterkids about the Dutch-Diemaco M9.
If I understood well, the Dutch Army requested Lan-Cay to procure M9 bayonet scabbards WITH magazine pouches.
So here comes my second questions:

2) Could it be possible that the pouches we now see on ebay are Lan-Cay overruns from the Duch request-procurement in 1998?

Hi Carlo,

You are correct with your statement about the Lan-Cay pouches; Lan-Cay did not produce or provide pouches for any of the US military contract bayonets. The pouch was eliminated before LanCay received their first contract to manufacture M9 bayonets for the US government.

Lan-Cay did make a small lot of bayonets for Diemaco in 1998 to fulfill Diemaco's responsiblity to the Dutch for supporting their rifle contract. It was at this time that Lan-Cay started manufacturing the pouches. I really don't think you can consider the pouches you see for sale as contract overruns. It's more a case of Lan-Cay realizing that there was a market for the product.
