Hi,
I have almost finished mine.
I have put a 23mmm diameter thread with a 16tpi pitch at the end of my barrel to fit the internal muzzle brake of my silencer.
And I have done a 20tpi thread on the outside of the brake to fit into the silencer itself.
For that particular application (thread over a large diameter section) I would rather go with a pitch of at least 20tpi or bigger rather than finer:

1- It is a bit a matter of proportion: Imagine that on an AR 15 muzzle you have a thread of 1/2" diameter for a length of say 1/2", that makes the "support" for your silencer about "balanced and square".
Now on a muzzle of 1" would you put a thread length of 1/2"? I would not.

Which brings me to point number 2:
2- the length of the thread being longer than usual, and it is a pen in the but to spin and spin your suppressor on for what seems to take ages. Imagine if you had a 28 tpi thread over an inch long? you have to spin your suppressor 28 times before it is locked in place.

That is just may way of thinking. I am not a designer , or engineer or anything fancy, just a hobby machinist with a great interest in accurate guns, shooting and silencers.
