I have been looking for a 300 BLK and was thinking I would use a 8" or 10.5" barrel. I have a YHM 7.62 Phantom for it. The problem is YHM states that they won't warranty their suppressors against baffle strike if a barrel less than 12.5" is used. They claim that regardless of the 1:8 twist that a barrel must be at least 12.5" long to stabilize a subsonic bullet. I have read many posts about people using 8" barrels with the various versions of a 300 whisper. Are baffle strikes a concern with barrels less than 12.5". I had thought bullet stabalization was a function of barrel twist and bullet length, not barrel length. Can someone give me their opinion please?
