New Zealand

Firearm laws are very relaxed....with some unusual twists....
No hunting with handguns....range use only. You have to be sponsored by a pistol club & then attend several events a year to maintain licence.
Military style weapons (AR's, AK's, anything with 15 shot mag, folding stock or flash hider) require a special licence. The trick here is none of these can be imported into the country. Only existing rifles in NZ are available. An AR here costs nothing short of 10,000 NZ dollars!!!! because of this. Another reason why I don't have a semi 300 whisper.
But beyond that rules are relaxed....yes people even own 50BMG's & 510 whispers and all sorts of other fun goodies.
The best part is still the large range of hunting availble on public land for free. Some verygood animals are taken if the hours are put in.
I think Your'l like the relaxed life style.

French Bread

Sounds good D-mon. Make a point of catching up. I'm quite partial to french bread :) Maybe you could come try your whisper on some of these feral goats out my way.

I have shot several deer in the NE with my Wisper, all one shoot kills. Similar wound results, small entry wound with knife like exit wound.

Favorite load 9.3 grains of H 110 over a 240 grain SMK, clocks at an average of 1040 FPS. Shoots 3/4" groups with my SSK barreled contender and 3/8" groups with my brother's CZ with a Mike Rock barrel.

Hi Murmur,
I found the same on goats in Australia, I actually shot a goat facing me in the chest and the round came out just beside his arse, so I too switched to neck and head shots and it is devasting. I use 220 Hornady interlocks with 11gn AD2205 for subsonic and 125 Balistic tips with 17.6gn for supersonic, equally devasting. Shane
