Buck with 188 and upside down

I was able to add a buck to my small collection but date code looks like upside down U . Any idea on date? thanks in advance.

That must have been very useful information for him to identify the year of the Buck he had bought and it was real interesting to read about the Phrobis and Buck Knives!! I had no idea about the codes too and I am sure that this information will help many people to identify the year the Bucks were manufactured!!

If you read through the back messages on this forum and the data int he quarterbore site itself, amny of the questions recently asked woudl have been answered. If you want to colelct then you need to read, there is a lot of info out there, on here and a couple of other sites that covers the vast majority of what is known on these blades
