I picked up a NEF Handy rifle in 44 Mag. Has anyone had any experience with these sub-sonic and suppressed? Barrel twist? bullet weights? charges? The barrel is 22", but if it works good with subs I can shorten it and do a Form 1 can. Any advice, would I be wasting my time. I have a 458 Socom bolt gun and waiting on my Form 1. I ran across this at a garage sale and thought I would try. What do you think?
I have a 44 mag handi with barrel cut to 17" I use a AAC Evo 45 can on it. The barrel has a very slow twist, I think it is 1-38". I have tried some 240 bullets at 1050 and have had average accuracy, but that could be my gun. I would not try anything heavier due to the twist
i tried trail boss but could not get enough powder into the case so i switched to unique with a good crimp. can't remember exact charge - just enough to be around 1000 fps.
TC 44 mag 1:11 twist barrel 240 and 300 grn pills
give me 2" groups and sometimes better when I weigh each powder charge
by hand.
I use AA #7 for 240 and 300 grn sub loads, this thing is as quiet as
any of my semiauto's in 22 lr suppressed.
