jet bd920w for almost beginner

Hi guys
I just got on this forum I'm basiclly a wood turner who does machine work to fix and make tooling.I have a 7x10 harbor freight,Atlas 6x24 and a craftsman 6x18all used but run ok.I'm looking at a new Jet BD-920w and would like to know what some of you think,I've been told that it's the same a harbor freights but I really don't wont another one of those.I think I'll be selling the atlas if I by a new one too.

The only difference between the Jet and the HF is the spindle thread. The Jet is 1 1/2-8 which is a standard size. My buddy has one and hates it. He said its a belt eater and he wishes he would have just bought a SBL. Where are you at i know where there are lots of small good lathes in NE Ohio...Bob
