After some thought, I have backed out of the 'deal' as I checked the parts prices on ebay. Worst case scenerio, I'll order myself, and make my own 'hybrid' rather than pay out the arse for one.

However, I do have that M9 Aussie Buck scabbard to trade 'one for one' for a US Buck used one as specified in my above post.

Cheers,

1feral1

What type of scabbard are you looking for? Buck commercial, Buck military or Phrobis military?

Hi Bill,

Here is some pics of the bayonet, as for the scabbard I require, Phrobis military to match the bayonet would be great, but Buck military would also suffice.

The bayonet has the dolphin on the crosspiece, and the blade is also marked Phrobis III.

Cheers,

Wes

Here is some pics of the M9 bayonet in use here in Australia. Taken at Singleton, north west of Sydney in Sep 03.

Well, I have beared by ugly mug for all ya's to see. Hope I did not break your moniter screens :)

Note the red BFA on the F88SA1 rifle, which can accept a bayonet over it, so the bayonet can be fixed while training with blanks.

Also note the 20rd magazine too. This is not Aussie issue, as I got this mag through trading with one of the members of the Malaysian Army. The mag is good for confined spaces in vehicles, etc, so it does come in handy.

The webbing is an Aussie copy (in AUSCAM) of the South African M-83, modified for Aussie equipment. The harness is South African. Although not issue, this model is quite popular with the troops, and puts the generic issue Viet Nam era crap to shame. The M83 holds 10 30rd mags (also good for the m16 30's also (as we use the M4 too), has a frag pouch, some map pockets, and is user friendly.

Gone is the traditional water bottle, as the Camelbak 3L hydration system fits fine in the designed pouch.

Cheers,

Wes

I am still keen to trade the Aussie contract Buck scabbard pictured above for a Phrobis scabbard in good nick to match my Phrobis bayonet.

Its gonna be a 1 for 1, and thats a good deal for you!

Cheers,

Wes

FLASH!

As of today, there are two separate Aussie /I\ Buck M9's on Ebay. Both are here in Australia, and they will ship world wide.

Good luck should any of you choose to bid.

Cheers,

Wes
