Spook - do you know anyone who has done a 8 twist barrel in 30PPC?

I personally am ambivalent wrt the ejector in the Rem and have bolts with and without them.

Hello Spook,
You remember me snatching that 338br reamer from PTG?
Well I got the 30PPC reamer as well during the same deal ;-)

I have not used it yet as I am still looking for a suitable action to play with.

But who knows, I might sell it one these days...

No need to modify the AICS for either the 30PPC or the 30BR/338BR. Load and feed with no problems.

Here's a prototype of 308x1.25":

Next to a regular .308 Win. round

Next to a 45 ACP case

Used a 44 Automag case. It requires minimal trimming after forming. Forming was difficult as it gets too tight in the base. However, that that could be fixed with a custom reamer and I believe it would still work in the Giraud (w/ 308 Win. case holder), which is what I used to trim off the excess length.

I didn't have a 240 SMK, so I just sat a 190 SMK on top. The 240 is about 0.236" longer than the 190, so it's pressure ring would sit just above the neck/sholder junction.

It'll be interesting to see if a case this short gets kicked off the bolt face before it enters the ejection phase

Im new to the whisper bolt gun game, I have a remington 223 thats been rebarreled with a pacnor blank and chambered in .300/221, exactly how do you modify a remington bolt to keep a 300 whisper case from early ejection and turning in the action?????
