M9 Bayonet strength

Hi there guys

I've posted about the M9 a lot and I want to know what you guys think?

Feedback from actual marines or soldiers who have used the M9 in combat or in the field would be appreciated as there's a difference between Collectors who have a wall full and all the knowledge on it, and those who have used it for the intended purpose ;)

I've heard nothing but rubbish about the M9, although I love this underdog of a bayonet.

I also hear that they snap easily and are ditched by most soldiers in favour of Kabar blades etc.

Can anyone tell me if all this is true? Is the M9 really not considered a good military bayonet?

I also hear the M9 is not capable of holding an Edge. My Lan-Cay ones from the factory are basic but the Ontario Knife Co one I have is reasonably sharp.

Can the M9 be sharpened to hold an edge?

Also I have been offered two Phrobis M9s (Gen III) for $200 in mint condition, good buy?
