Quietest suppressor you have ever used?

I am researching my for my first 300 whisper build and am wondering your opinions on the best/quietest suppressor you have ever used. Personal experience please not just hear say about a certain brand.

My personal experience has been that a Trident-9 is quieter on a 10" T/C Contender than a Bowers CAC-45 or a Triple-X Warrior.

The Trident also sounds very good on a 16" AR15. I have an appropriate mount for the CAC-45 on that barrel as well, but I forgot to bring it to the range with me.

My trident 9 is not a quiet as my omega 30, although the most quiet i have shot on a whisper was my buddys intergal on a rem 700 made by tros usa i belive although lrm may have made it?, all i heard was a slight woosh and a firing pin :D

I've got the trident 9 as well, and I to have shot the integral tros 300 whisper, and that thing is QUIET!!!!! that would be my top choice for a bolt gun!

Just received my AAC 762SD and have been nothing but disappointed. Maybe my expectations are too high? Sounds about like a nail gun. A large nail gun. Shooting 220 gr. SMK's at 1040 fps.

I'm thinking about trying an integral over a short AR barrel, setting it up as a bolt action so the suppressor can extend all the way back over the barrel. Maybe this will be quiet.

dflicker, if you are shooting an AR and semi, then most of what you are hearing is the action and some chamber pressure. Away from the gun it is quieter than what the shooter is hearing. That is why some of us use switch blocks. If you have a gas block with set screws, you can move the block to cover the gas port, then tighten down, try it single shot and you will hear a big difference. You can also use faster burning powders to make them quieter.

I have used all of my 9mm cans and 762 cans on the AR and TC in 300 whisper, the 300 whisper can that Degroat made is the quietest.
Tried my Evo 9, Trident, DTA Navy 9 and one of my buds Gemtech 9mm
can that I dont remember the name of.
Tried my 762sd and a buds thunderlips can and still the DTA can was the winner and at 12" long it's only 14oz's.

I have a 12" piston AR with adjustable gas block (4-position) but still need to tune it. The largest port ejects but will not pick up the next round. The carrier has been lightened. Currently have an H2 buffer and will remove weights tomorrow to see if I can get it to cycle, will probably end up opening up the port. I'd prefer to keep the lower stock because I use it with several other uppers.

I've been using 9.2 gr. of #9 with the 220gr. SMK's, would something like 2400 be better? Can anyone suggest another powder to try?

10.0 gr of ww296 or h110 with the 220 gr. is what I load.
