help SD is horrible....

I am shooting 220 SMK's on top of 11.0 g of W296 with rem br primers. The rifle is an SSK 300 upper. My velocity is avg 1050 but my standard deviation is horrible. I mean it could be 90 fps and it throws my 100 yard group into a 6" vertical string. When the velocity happens to be the same as another shot, the group is tight... what recommendations could solve my issues?
thanks

i am not sure how you would adjust neck tension on a 300 whisper. you might could use some lee collet dies and see if that would help.

See my comments on a separate post and the 30BR thread. Going to a faster powder is the first port of call - you are aiming to produce a short, fast and consistent burn to get that large bullet moving.
