2 deer down so far. The bullets are turning sideways in the deer.

What kind of accuracy are you getting with these puppies? Are they expanding on game as they turn sideways? Do they exit the animal? Details man! Details!

9.9 grs of VV N110 gets me 1075 fps out of a 16" SSK AR. Groups are 1.25" @ 100 yds. I have caught bullets in wet newsprint, but not in a deer. I have shot two deer and both bullets did the same thing. They went in, turned sideways, and exited. The exit hole is sideways. It is also shorter and more blunt than the full size bullet. The bullet expands in everything I shoot it in so I have no doubt it's expanding. I'm going to be hunting the rest of the week with the 458 version of this bullet. If I pop a deer with the SOCOM, I will put a Whisper bullet length ways so I can catch the bullet.

I dropped a note to the folks that made the bullets as shown on the Corbin site ... no response yet. Finally found your source as you listed it on the thread you posted ... will contact them. (They certainly aren't inexpensive ... actually slightly more than 500 gr Woodleigh Weldcore softs for the .458. Ouch!)

Old post, but I'm digging it up. I just talked to Corbin and to setup for this round from scratch is pricey. About $2000.00 for tools and material for an initial 1000 bullets. The cost per bullet is $0.32 verses $0.42 for 240berger though and this is the shizzle for killen!

You can see my calcs in a spreadsheet I made here:
